Ok so I hit the mall and bought SMASH BOX PHOTO FINISH FOUNDATION PRIMER! I asked for a sample about 2 weeks ago. I love it! It makes my foundation feel silky smooth and my foundation looks great! I also tried the Bare Minerals "Prime Time"... um it did not do so good. As I applied it to my face after my moisturizer, it balled up like you would elementary school glue. Not a great experience there with the "Prime Time" . I have real oily T-zone areas and the SMASH BOX helps my oil control issues a lot. It feels great on my skin no cakey feeling! For this make-up diva thumbs up for this product!

I recently have been using MUFE's eye brown pencil. I have been trying it out for the past month. I have to say it works really well. It is very pigmented and does not wear out throughout the day. It has a smooth, charcoaly consistency. It allows you to fill in your scarce eyebrows leaving you with a very natural look. You can go as dramatic as you want with it or again because of the charcoal you can use it on its side verses the tip and just lightly fill in what you need and it looks great. It is very easy to work with, user friendly! I have been using the Loreal eyebrow pencil, for quite some time but it easily rubs off. For this Phoenix thumbs up!

Girl 2 Girl Tip:
I use a little eyeprimer on my eyebrows to give it a little extra security when using eye pencils. Your eyebrow color lasts longer.

The Art of Beauty

Ok so here I am trying to think of a blog. There are truly so many things to talk about. Especially when we are discussing the art of make-up, hair & photography! I have had so many disappointments and successes. But above all I have learned so much with every brush stroke, every color I place strategically on an animated canvas. So many different colors and textures with the vast choices of beautiful faces along with the lighting and angle of the camera.

I am a amateur at all of the above. I love to create period. Let me tell you a little about myself. I have been in the medical field for 14yrs. I love working with people. I have always loved to do hair and make-up and take pics of everything as a hobby. I use to be a Mark Kay consultant and that is how I started doing make overs. I learned so many things being a beauty consultant. It was fun but stress when I did gigs. However, I loved the way I made women feel after they had a facial and make over. Make-up can be therapeutic. There are so many stories behind lost faces. I just loved what I did. However, I let circumstances take over and I settled for mediocrity. I am far from mediocre I am finally taking over my destiny. I am a free willed spirit with lots of life to give! I got my nickname Lady Phoenix Because I love what the Phoenix signified. A phoenix is a mythical bird with a colorful plumage and a tail of gold and scarlet (or purple, blue, and green according to some legends). It has a 500 to 1,000 year life-cycle, near the end of which it builds itself a nest of twigs that then ignites; both nest and bird burn fiercely and are reduced to ashes, from which a new, young phoenix or phoenix egg arises, reborn anew to live again. For me this mystical beautiful bird is just like beauty. You are already beautiful,...make-up allows your beauty to be reborn in more ways than one. Make-up is designed to enhance your natural beauty to be who you want to be or who you were meant to be. You can do virtually anything with just a few brush strokes of color, imagination and soul! Everything in life is just like this phoenix to me,... you go through a life time of experiences and use them to better yourself, to be reborn, to change. This bird also has beautiful colors. I LOVE BOLD vibrant colors so in so many ways "Lady Phoenix" just seem to fit!

I am a wild child but some what tamed due to mother hood...lol! I also have a strong love for GOD! I am far from a perfect Christian but because of the gifts he gave me I am able to see things differently when I look at the world. I seethe world, and people it for their beautiful chaos. I hope you enjoy my blog, my posts, and my view on life in the world of ART!
